About Us
The mission of the Indian Waters Council is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. |
Scout Oath:
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. |

The Indian Waters Council was founded in 1916 as the Columbia Council.

The service area of the Indian Waters Council is the following central counties of South Carolina: Bamberg, Calhoun, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lexington, Orangeburg, Richland and Saluda

In 2006, over 8,200 youth participated in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing and Learning for Life/Exploring.

Over 2,600 adult leaders, acting as mentors, provided the quality Scouting programs that build character, promote personal fitness and teach good citizenship.
