The University of South Carolina Athletics Department and the Indian Waters Council have partnered for over 50 years to provide assistance at all home football games. The Indian Waters Council’s commitment to USC involves volunteers and youth in the council providing ticket scanning and first aid at all home football games.
Recently, USC reorganized the support and staffing for all home football games. The result of this reorganization is that adult scouting volunteers and older youth (16 years old minimum) will be asked to serve as ticket scanners at some of the entrance gates and are free to leave their post after the first quarter. We will continue to provide first aid and medics in the same manner as we have done in previous years.
We are asking you for your support as a volunteer for this program. Listed below is information and requirements related to the program. Please consider volunteering and help us keep the tradition between USC and the Boy Scouts alive.
-
Football service is for all USC home football games. Volunteers are asked to help for all home games. The dates for the games are:
Thursday, August 28 - NC State
Saturday, September 13 - Georgia
Saturday, September 20 - Wofford
Saturday, September 27 - Alabama - Birmingham
Saturday, October 18 - LSU
Saturday, November 1 - Tennessee
Saturday, November 8 - Arkansas
- Each person who serves as a volunteer for at least five of the games will receive a recognition item with the USC Gamecock logo. Gifts in the past have included polo shirts and jackets.
- Volunteers will need to arrive three hours before the game starts and sign in at the designated area. Scanning will end at the end of the first quarter and volunteers are free to watch the game or leave at that time.
- There will need to be one adult at the gate with each youth member. Each youth member must be at least 16 years old. Both male and female youth are welcome. If a non-scout or venturer would like to help they can do so by registering with the council.
- Please ensure that only mature youth participate. Each person will be a reflection on the Scouting program and USC athletics.
- To register as a member of the Football Service Team please complete the registration form. If you have any questions please call Velda Howard, David Kangas or Larry Brown at the Council Service Center (803-750-9868).
- All Football Service team members will need to attend one of the two training sessions held on either Wednesday June 25 from 6-8pm or Saturday August 9 from 9:30am-12pm. More informaiton about location will be provided to those registered at a later date.
